The IntelleClass VTS is directed by an excellent Management Team. This team includes members who have been an integral part of US Public Education for more than half-a-century! This management team plays an active role in directing the Solution by playing the roles of Resident School Superintendent; Resident State Secretary of Education; Resident School Principal.

This active team of educators ensures that IntelleClass is a user friendly and cost effective solution for Schools. The Management Team also instills the Philosophy of Providing high quality instruction to every student, to ensure that No Child is Truly Left Behind.

Dr. Iris Metts

Dr Iris Metts

Dr. Metts has more than 40 years of professional, progressive experience in education, including service as the Commissioner of a nationally recognized state school program comprised of over 110,000 students, and service as the Superintendent of the 17th largest school district in the nation.  Beginning as an instructor of physics and mathematics at the high school level, Dr. Metts progressed to Director/Principal, Superintendent of Schools, the Secretary of Education for Delaware’s Department of Education, and finally the President/CEO of A+Choice Solutions, Inc., a back-office resource company providing services for independent charter and private schools.  Having dedicated her entire career to K-12 education, both in the schools themselves and through educational consulting services, Dr. Metts’s experience gives her a unique perspective on this project.  Her Subject Matter Expertise covers not only the individual needs of K – 12 students, but also the business and consulting requirements that will arise from the EPD effort.  Finally, her experience as the Superintendent of Schools in Prince George’s County, MD, with a student body of approximately 132,000, ensures that she has the knowledge to guide the Teachers and help create the Repository of Highly Qualified Teachers.

Dr. Don Schmalzried

Dr. Don Schmalzried

Dr. Schmalzried has more than forty years of experience working in various roles in K-12 public schools throughout the nation.  Most recently he served as the coordinator of one of the eight sub-districts in the Fairfax County Public Schools.  In this capacity he helped Fairfax County develop the EDSL system, focusing on making the system useful and usable for elementary and secondary principals. He helped tailor the system so that principals and teachers could use it to analyze test results and modify their instruction to better meet the needs of the diverse student population in Fairfax County. Significant improvement in instruction and test scores were the result.  Upon development of EDSL, Dr. Schmalzried also participated in designing the training program required to train the end users of the system.  In addition, Dr. Schmalzried has conducted numerous presentations to a wide variety of audience on the topic of “Data Driven Decision Making” over the past five years.  One of his flagship presentations was at the Harvard University in 2004 entitled, “Best Practices in Implementing Data Warehousing Solutions for Public Schools”.

 

Dr. Kim Winkelman

Dr. Winkelman has over thirty-seven years of professional, progressive experience in education, including teaching and administrative roles in education.  His experience includes International education, teaching and counseling, and distance learning experience.  At present, Dr. Winkelman is involved two on-going distance learning projects for a Shelton State College, Alabama, and New Hampshire Community College System.  He most recently served as President of Comanche nation College.  His credentials include an M.A. in International Policy Studies and Culture; a Ph.D. in Adult Education from Walden University; a Certificate in Institute of Education Management from Harvard University; a DACUM Facilitator Certificate; and a Certified Online Instructor Certificate.
